Practice tests for WSET

Three levels, one method: read the study material, answer questions until the gaps show up, then go back to what caught you out. Pick your level below — or start with a free sample of WSET-style questions.

Which level should I take?

The wine levels are not formally sequential, so you can start where your knowledge actually sits rather than at the bottom. Level 1 assumes nothing and gets you to the point of making a confident recommendation. Level 2 is the one most people mean when they say "I'm doing my WSET" — it is the working qualification for hospitality and retail, and it is heavily weighted toward grape varieties and their regions. Level 3 changes the question from what to why, and adds written answers and blind tasting to the multiple choice.

Whichever you are sitting, the theory is the same body of knowledge at three depths: how grapes are grown, how wine is made, what the label means, and how the great regions differ. That is what our practice questions and study guides cover, and it is why one question bank serves all three levels — you simply need more of it, and in more detail, as you go up.

How to use this site to revise

  • 01
    Read the study material

Long-form guides to the regions, the grapes, viticulture, and winemaking — with interactive maps of the appellations. Every guide opens with a free overview; the depth behind it comes with a subscription.

  • 02
    Test yourself on it

WSET-style multiple-choice questions in the same format as the real papers, shuffled every session so you build breadth instead of memorising an order. Start with the free sample; practice quizzes of 10, 20 or 30 questions come with a subscription.

  • 03
    Follow the misses back

Results show which questions caught you out. Go back to the guide that covers them, then quiz again. That loop is the whole method.
